Dollar Shave Club - Summer Series

THE PROJECT
Soak up the sun, but safely
Helping to promote DSC’s products for the start of summer.
THE CHALLENGE
Summer is here and Dollar Shave Club is pushing a seaonal campaign around the “stink and sweat” of summer. The challenge of this campaign was to create environments that really leant itself to a true summery feel without looking cliche or cheesy.

For this project, we did not have access to any 3-D renders so everything had to be photographed and then edited in photoshop. To achieve this look, we shot the products with props and then built those environments digitally.
MY ROLE
For this project, I had to wear a number of different hats such as Art Director, Photographer, Designer, Retoucher and UX Designer. I touched all parts of the creation process from concept to execution.

The first step was to work with the strategy of the campaign to come up with a look and feel that really helped bring this summer setting to life.

  • Hot Heroes

Bringing the heat to those headers

I wanted all 4 hero images to have a cohesive look with settings that really embodied heat, sweat, and need to protect yourself from some of its more opressing elements.

    Wa Wa Wa Wireframes

Designing the email top to bottom

I next had to put together how the email would be stuctured. This entailed coming up with wireframe sketches that would organize the flow and how those product modules would display.
